How to Become a GM in WoW

"World of Warcraft" is one of the most popular games released by Blizzard Entertainment, with a total player base of over nine million players. The "World of Warcraft" game universe is populated by companies, players and even Blizzard staff members. The in-game Blizzard staff members are known as game masters and serve as Blizzard's customer service representatives. A game master is a paid position offered by Blizzard. You can become a game master by applying for the position through the official Blizzard website.

      Visit the Career Opportunities page on the official Blizzard Entertainment website (see Resources).

      Click the button "View All Jobs Here." The Blizzard Entertainment job directory will appear.

      Click the job titled "Customer Service Representative" located under the "Customer Service" bullet point. You will be redirected to a page containing the job's description, responsibilities, requirements and pluses. Click "Apply Online," located on the bottom of the page. You will be redirected to a page containing the privacy agreement. Thoroughly read through the statement and click "I accept." The job log-in page will load.

      Click "New User." Completely fill out the "New User" signup form with all the required information, and then click "Register." Upon completion, you will be redirected back to the job application form. You will be prompted to upload your resume. Click "Choose File." The Windows file browser will open. Locate and select your resume file, and then click "Open." Click "Save and Continue."

      Follow the onscreen steps to complete the application process. Once you read the job summary page, review your information for accuracy and click "Submit Resume." Blizzard Entertainment will notify you of its interest within two to four weeks.

Tips & Warnings

  • Blizzard receives thousands of job applications a week. Only conduct a follow-up phone call if you receive an email from the company showing interest in your services.

  • The game master position at Blizzard Entertainment is run out of the company's offices in Irvine, California, therefore Blizzard prefers you to be a Southern California resident. However, it is not required.
