How to Print Luminaries Onto a Paper Bag

Paper bag luminaries are a striking yet unassuming light feature, and are ideal for any event, from bridal showers to galas and charity functions. Luminaries can be personalized for any occasion and are very easy to make and maintain. They prove a stunning alternative to traditional outdoor lighting. Customize luminaries by printing designs onto each paper bag.

Things You'll Need

• Rubber stamp
• Craft ink
• Paper bag
• Glass
• Sand
• LED tea light

Instructions

1. Set a rubber stamp on top of the paper bag, closer to the top than the bottom. There must be at least 1 inch between the bottom of the bag and the stamp, for best results. Mark where you'd like to place the stamp.

2. Press the stamp into craft ink, gently rotating the stamp to ensure the whole image is covered in ink.

3. Print the stamp onto the mark you made on the bag, holding for a few seconds to allow the ink to transfer.

4. Open the bag and fill the bottom with a 4-ounce glass of sand.

5. Push an LED tea light into the sand, until it is held securely in place.

Tips & Warnings

• Purchase rubber stamps from craft stores. You'll find stamps ranging from wedding and baby themes to letters that can be used to make initials.
