How to Grow Forget-Me-Nots
Forget-me-nots (Myosotis sylvatica) are low-growing perennials often used as annuals due to their short life span. They reach heights of only six to 12 inches, making them ideal border plants. The foliage is greenish-gray and soft to the touch. Forget-me-not blooms form in eye-catching clumps and appear from spring until mid-summer. They are available in blue or white and have yellow centers. Forget-me-nots will thrive in full sun or part shade, as long as they are watered regularly. No specialized horticultural skill is required to successfully grow this species. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Pull all weeds and grass from the planting site and remove any rocks or debris.
-
2
Loosen the soil to a depth of six inches, using a garden fork. Sow the forget-me-not seeds on the surface of the soil and water just until moist. Use care when watering so the seeds are not pressed too deeply into the ground.
-
-
3
Check the soil often and water anytime the top half-inch feels dry. Always water the plants at ground level because excessive moisture on the foliage can encourage disease.
-
4
Feed once each week with water-soluble fertilizer. Remove weeds from around the plants as necessary.
-
5
Examine often for signs of disease or insect infestation, such as dropped leaves, spotted or discolored foliage or leaf damage. Look closely at the leaves, especially the undersides, if you are unsure of the problem because insects are often visible. Treat with insecticide or fungicide, if necessary. If slugs are a nuisance, place several slug baits around the plants.
-
6
Clip off faded blooms with pruning shears before they seed to keep the plants from overtaking the garden.
