How to Connect a Garmin Map 76 to Axim

The Garmin Map 76 CX is a mobile global positioning system (GPS) that contains a serial port for use in connecting with other devices for sharing maps, data and points of interest. The Dell Axim is a mobile personal computer manufactured by Dell, although Dell ceased production of the device in 2007. With a serial to USB cable adapter, available at most computer or consumer electronic device stores, you can connect the Garmin Map 76 to a Dell Axim.

• Serial to USB Adapter

Instructions

1. Press the power key and hold it down for several seconds to turn off the Garmin Map 76.

2. Press the power button on the Dell Axim to turn it off if it is still on.

3. Attach the serial cable supplied with the Garmin Map 76 GPS device to the serial to USB adapter.

4. Plug the USB cable from the Axim into the corresponding port on the serial to USB adapter.

5. Turn the power on for both devices to initiate the power. You have now connected a Garmin Map 76 to Axim.
