Amana specializes in the production of items for the home, including refrigerators, microwaves, ranges, dishwashers, water filters, washers and dryers. The Amana LWA50AW washer is an automatic washer that features a variety of wash cycles and water temperature options. If problems occur with the washer, performing some troubleshooting steps may be useful in determining a solution.

Instructions

1. Make sure your Amana washer is securely connected to a working power outlet if the washer does not function. Check the circuit breaker and fuse, and reset or replace them if necessary. Do not use an extension cord to provide power to the unit, as an extension cord diminishes the amount of electricity that reaches the washer.

2. Select the desired wash cycle and press or select "Start" if the washer has power but is not functioning. Ensure the door is shut firmly and the water valves are turned on.

3. Remove any possible obstructions from the drain hose and straighten the hose if the water does not drain from the washer. Ensure that the drain hose is not raised more than 96 inches above the floor, as this can result in backflow into the unit.

4. Redistribute the items inside the washer if the washer is vibrating excessively during use or is not spinning correctly. Ensure the washer is not overfilled with items.

5. Clean the water inlet hose if the washer is leaking or not operating correctly. Ensure the washer is not overloaded and redistribute the load evenly.

6. Contact an authorized service center if the above steps do not resolve the problem.
