How to Tie Neckerchief Knots

The modern neckerchief is a piece of cloth fabric, worn about the head and neck, and is typically associated with the Boy Scouts of America organization. The Boy Scouts of America have made the neckerchief a required part of the scouting uniform and expect all scouts to know how to properly wear their neckerchief and secure it using a good-turn knot. Properly tying the knots of the neckerchief allows the scout to quickly remove and manipulate the neckerchief in a variety of situations. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Fold the neckerchief once into a triangle shape.

    • 2

Place the neckerchief around the neck and over the collar of your shirt.

    • 3

Place the slide over the ends of the neckerchief and raise it to the top of the sternum, but below the throat.

    • 4

Grip both ends of the neckerchief, then cross them over each other once, forming a loop.

    • 5

Wrap the end in your right hand through the loop and pull it until it is tight. The overhand knot is complete.
