How to Decorate Rooms With Outdoor Themes
Use an outdoor theme to decorate different rooms in your home to display your love of nature. Each room in your home can reflect a different season or aspect of nature, such as the forest and beach, or you can use a similar theme throughout. For example, decorate each room with a forest theme, but highlight the forest during a different season in each room. Alternatively, use a beach theme, forest theme and desert theme in different rooms. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Paint the walls with a warm earth tone that complements your outdoor theme. For example, brown or beige works for a camping, woods or lodge theme, while aqua, coral or sea-foam green work for a beach-themed room. Alternatively, paint a scenic mural on the walls or use a peel-and-stick mural.

2
Arrange the furniture in the room to take advantage of scenic rooms or murals, allowing nature to be the focal point of the room. Use furniture that complements the theme, such as rough-looking wood furniture for a rustic cabin look or wicker furniture for a beach- or lake-themed room.

3
Include linens that play into the colors and theme of the room, whether it's bedding, decorative throws, rugs or window treatments. A garden-themed room might include a green rug that looks like grass and have curtains with butterflies all over them.
-
4
Hang artwork, pictures, posters or other decor on the walls to further your outdoor theme. Ocean- or beach-themed rooms might include blown-up pictures from your family vacation to the beach or images of different beaches. A woods- or fall-themed room might include a wreath made of leaves.
-
5
Accessorize the room with bits and pieces from nature. Fill jars with sand and shells for a beach-themed room, or hang antique fishing poles and lures on the walls for a lake- or cabin-themed room. Floral arrangements or houseplants are ideal. Add a fresh nature scent with candles or potpourri.
