How to Self-Repair a Toshiba Red Convergence

Repair the Toshiba red convergence to improve the video quality. The convergence is the blending of the projection tube colors to make a clear picture. There are generally three colors that are used by projection television, which are red, green and blue. Toshiba projection televisions allow the user to manually adjust the convergence and each color independently. The red convergence projection tube can be repaired independently without the need of a technician.

Things You'll Need

• Remote control
• Video signal

Instructions

1. Power on the Toshiba projection television and let it warm up for at least 20 minutes. Connect a video source to the television to provide the television with a picture to focus on. Press "Menu" on the remote or front panel of the Toshiba television.

2. Select the "Picture" option in the main menu and scroll down to choose the "Convergence" option. Press "Enter" to select the "Red" projection tube color. Use the directional buttons to adjust it in comparison to the green line.

3. Exit the convergence menu once the adjustments have been completed. Place the television on a proper input to verify that the problem has been repaired. If the picture has not been fixed, then repeat steps 2 and 3.
