How to Improve the Uniden Bearcat 150
The Uniden Bearcat 150 is a powerful and innovative cordless phone system ideal for maximizing the convenience of your home. The Bearcat's charging base station can be placed anywhere in the house with a nearby electrical source; from there you are free to use the cordless phone handset anywhere within the broadcast range of the Bearcat's base station. If you purchase the Uniden Bearcat 150 and you are not satisfied with its performance, try to improve the performance with some simple troubleshooting steps at home before spending valuable time on the phone with a customer service representative.

1
Install the Bearcat's base station in a central location in the home if you experience poor signal quality, static during calls or other audio interference. If you live in a particularly large house, the poor signal quality may be due to the handset's being used outside the Bearcat's broadcast range. Relocate the base station and retest incoming and outgoing calls to see if the signal quality is improved.

2
Remove any wireless routers that operate on the same frequency as the Bearcat. If you have a wireless router that operates on the same frequency as the Bearcat (most likely 1.9 MhZ, but this can vary depending on certain factors), you will notice dropped calles or severe audio interference any time the wireless router is broadcasting. If this is the case, replace either the router or the Bearcat with one that you are sure operates on a different frequency than the other device.

Charge the Bearcat's battery often to ensure consistent phone service. The first time you charge the Bearcat, allow for up to 20 hours' charging time before using the telephone. Subsequent charges should only take a few hours each. The battery will eventually stop holding a charge; the Bearcat 150's battery pack cannot be replaced, so the phone will need to be replaced once the phone no longer properly holds a charge.
