How to Tell Chat Tracking Software is on a Computer
There are software applications designed specifically for spying on computer activities. These applications are known as keystroke logging or "keyloggers." These spy tools are primarily meant for recording everything you do on the Internet from tracking the login information of your email account to accessing all your personal chats on any instant messaging client. If you suspect that somebody might be spying on your chat activities with one of these applications, there are ways to find out and remove the software from your computer.

Press "CTRL" + "Alt" + "Del" at the same time to launch the Windows Task Manager. Click the tab "Processes." Go through the list of running processes on your computer at the time. If you find anything suspicious, search the application title on a search engine and you will immediately find out if it's a keylogger.

Open your computer's system configuration utility by going to "Start," then "Run" and typing "msconfig." Then click the "Startup" tab and go through the list of applications that launch when you reboot your computer. It may include applications like widgets, your instant messaging program, Internet browser and more. If there's anything unfamiliar, remove it immediately.

Run a virus scan on your computer using your antivirus program. Ensure the program is updated with the latest virus definitions to enable it to detect the keylogger on your PC.
