How to Find a Stamp Collector or Dealer

How to Find a Stamp Collector or Dealer thumbnail
Some old rare stamps can cost a small fortune.

Stamps can cost a lot or nothing. Generally, the most valuable stamps are the rarest ones. While it is certainly true that valuable stamps increase their value in time, cheap ones typically stay cheap. Whether you want to sell your collection or want to know its value, finding a stamp collector or a dealer is not difficult.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine what collector or dealer you are looking for. You may prefer to get in touch with a local dealer or collector whom you could visit in person. Or, if you want to find a rare stamp from abroad, you may need contact details of a dealer in another county.

    • 2

Go to the website of the American Stamps Dealers Association, or ASDA. Their database contains information about dealers and collectors not only from the U.S., but also from other countries. A link to their website is provided in the Resources section.

    • 3

Make a search for a stamp dealer or collector in the ASDA database. As of December 2010, they had over 600 members worldwide.
