How do I Remove a Windshield Wiper Tray from a Jetta?

If your windshield wiper motor shorts out on your Volkswagen Jetta, you will need to remove the windshield wiper tray to expose the windshield wiper motor for repairs. The windshield wiper tray cover is located below the windshield. The tray also protects the AC and heat vents from moisture, which can short out and rust important components.

Things You'll Need

• Flathead screwdriver

Instructions

1. Turn on the Volkswagen Jetta and turn on the windshield wipers. Shut off the windshield wipers when they are pointing straight up on the windshield. Shut off the Jetta.

2. Pry off the windshield wiper tray caps located on each end of the tray. Use the screwdriver to pry off the caps to expose the tray screws.

3. Unscrew the windshield wiper tray screws under each cap.

4. Pull the tray toward the front of the hood to remove it.
