- White paper towels
- Liquid dish soap
- White vinegar
- Bowl
- Rag
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Sponge
- Towel

Blot wet Mountain Dew stains with white paper towels. Gently dab at the liquid, and avoid pushing it further into the carpet. Keep blotting until the stain no longer transfers to the paper towels.

Mix a solution of 1 tsp. liquid dish soap with 1 tbsp. white vinegar in 2 cups of water in a bowl.

Wet a small portion of a clean rag with the cleaning solution. Dab the solution onto the red stain marks. Start at the edges of the stain and work towards the center.

Wet a different section of the rag with the soapy mixture as you continue lifting the stain from the carpet. Repeat this procedure until the red stain is removed completely from the flooring.

Pour 3 tbsp. of hydrogen peroxide onto a damp sponge. Blot the solution onto any remaining stains on the carpet that the soap could not remove. Allow it to remain on the stains for two hours.

Remove the hydrogen peroxide and the stain from the carpet by blotting with a damp sponge. Rinse the sponge with cool water and continue applying to the carpet until the stains lift entirely.

Press a folded towel into the wet carpet to absorb excess liquid and speed up the drying time.
