How to Mount a Plasma
Consumers routinely mount their plasma televisions on a wall. The TV itself is rather thin so it takes up even less space by being directly against the wall instead of on a big piece of furniture. Mounting your plasma TV also can make your living room more attractive. Make sure you choose a good quality mounting system, however, as your TV will most likely be hanging there for awhile.

1
Locate the screw holes used to mount your plasma on the back of your television. Consult your TV's manual if you have difficulty finding them.
-
2
Remove the screws that serve as placeholders for the mount. Use these screws to see which screws you need from the ones included with your mounting system. The screws will need to have the same diameter. Measure the screw with a ruler or simply do a visual test with trial and error.

3
Use the screws to attach the mounting bars to the back of your plasma television with your drill or screwdriver. This is the piece that is going to attach the mount that will be on your wall.
-
4
Affix the mount to your wall. You will want to make sure that the mount is center and level. The use of a level is suggested here. Also use a stud finder to make sure you do not drill into a stud. Then use the included screws to secure the mount to your wall. It is best to use a drill to make sure the mount is securely in place.

5
Connect all of your wires to your television. Once the plasma is mounted to the wall, you will not have much space to switch things so this needs to be done beforehand. Or you can cut two holes in your wall using a box cutter to run the wires from the television to your equipment. One hole will go below the mount and the other will go farther down, near your equipment. You then run the wires from the top hole to the bottom hole and connect all your equipment.
-
6
Attach the plasma mounting bars connected to your television to the mount on the wall. Ideally you will have three people to do this. Two people will lift the television while the third feeds the wires into the hole if you decided to make one.
