How to Report Fraud & Abuse to Medicare Tricenturion
Tricenturion is an organization that seeks to minimize fraud, waste and abuse of various public and private programs, including Medicare programs. As of December 2010, the organization is a Medicare Program Safeguard contractor, whose objective "is to protect and safeguard the Medicare Trust Fund for its beneficiaries by administering a highly effective and efficient benefits integrity management program." The organization has its headquarters in South Carolina as well as another office in Palm Harbor, Florida. If you suspect that a person may be abusing a Medicare program, you may contact the organization directly.

Gather as much relevant information as you can about the suspected Medicare fraud, making sure you address the "who, what, where and when" questions.
According to TriCenturion, some examples of this may include, but are not limited to, another person or organization "charging more than the actual purchase price of a service, item, or drug," "incorrectly apportioning costs on cost reports for Part A providers," and "routinely submitting duplicate claims."

Locate your Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) and then write down the number listed on the top of the form.

Call the number you located in Step 2. You may also call report the suspected crime directly to TriCenturion by calling 803-264-7700.
