How to Kill Weeds in Buffalo Grass

Buffalo grass is a much rougher, stiff version of the usual soft lawn grasses. Many grass weed killers claim to be safe for buffalo grass, but contain an ingredient that can cause major damage to the lawn. If you know which type of weed killer to buy, the process of removing weeds from your buffalo grass is actually quite simple. The proper type of weed killer along with the correct technique will yield a quality result.

Things You'll Need

• Lawn weed killer
• Gardening gloves

Instructions

1. Get some lawn weed killer that doesn't contain the ingredient dicamba, which can harm buffalo grass. Instead, look for the ingredients sulphate and/or ammonia.

2. Spray the lawn weed killer directly into the roots and over the leaves and stems of the weeds rather than using a garden sprayer to apply it over the entire lawn. Let sit twenty-four hours or so, or until the weed is visibly dying.

3. Put on a pair of gardening gloves and pull the dead weeds out from the roots.

4. Spray the ground where the weeds were lifted away from well to prevent further growth of another weed.
