How to Oil RWS Pellet Guns
RWS pellet rifles are manufactured in Germany. Designed for recreational shooting, hunting and competitive shooting, RWS pellet rifles feature forward-thinking designs, with some guns having recoilless floating actions. As with any airgun it is necessary to perform basic maintenance periodically to insure proper operation. Oiling an RWS, as part of the maintenance, should be done following the manufacturers directions to avoid potential operating problems.

1
Place a bristle brush tip on the end of a cleaning rod and dip it into a mild degreaser. Run the bristle brush in and out of the barrel to loosen lead deposits.
-
2
Replace the bristle brush with a cleaning patch tip. Place a cleaning patch on the patch tip on the end of the cleaning rod and apply a small amount of RWS Spring Cylinder Oil. Run the oiled patch in and out of the barrel to remove remaining lead deposits and apply a coat of protective oil.

3
Apply RWS Spring Cylinder Oil to any pivot points or other areas of the gun where metal parts contact and move. Apply only one or two drops at each point.
-
4
Apply one to two drops of oil to the spring chamber and piston after every 1,000 shots. Use only RWS Spring Cylinder Oil, as it has a high flash point and will not break down under the high temperatures generated by the gun's action.
-
5
Wipe down all metal exterior surfaces of the RWS pellet gun with RWS Spring Cylinder Oil. Apply the oil to a clean rag and wipe the surface of the gun to help protect it from moisture.
