How to Talk to a Girl Sitting Next to You
Let's face it. We females can be an intimidating race . . . but honestly, having a conversation with us is not as difficult as you might think. A lot of men simply don't know what to talk about or how to even start talking in the first place! If you want to succeed in the dating realm, confidence and connection are key. Women are looking for men with courage who are not afraid to open up and be themselves.

1
Catch her eye and smile genuinely. Ditch the cheesy and creepy pick-up lines and make yourself appear approachable before you start talking.
-
2
Talk about something relevant. This is a great way to open up a conversation. If you're sitting in class, ask her how she thinks she did on the last test you both took. If you're waiting in line at the Department of Motor Vehicles, comment on how much more fast-paced the line feels this time around. Don't complain or be negative. She might be put off by your crankiness.

3
Ask open-open questions and avoid questions that might only provide yes or no answers. This will keep the conversation going and open up doors to ask new questions. For example, you can ask her what her major is in the college you both attend, when she answers, "Well, I am an English lit major, but I'm thinking about switching to Music Performance," you can ask her why she is switching majors or what she wants to do with her degree after she receives it.
-
4
Avoid talking too much. This can cause you to appear arrogant and too self-involved. By keeping the girl talking, you will keep her interested. She will appreciate your interest in her and you will appear likeable and friendly.
-
5
Know when to end the conversation. You'll want to end it around the same time she visibly appears to be enjoying herself because it will leave her wanting to get to know you more. Make an excuse to leave and wait a short time to see if she will offer her email address or phone number. If she doesn't offer it right away, go ahead and ask if it would be OK if you called her sometime.
