How to Enhance My Business Website
It's a good idea to make a website for your business, but one that's not always immediately rewarding. If after months of monitoring page views you notice few visitors or a trend of visitors leaving your website quickly, the problem may lie in the design of your website. A few simple enhancements can drive visitors to your website and keep them there longer, resulting in more publicity for your business.

1
Buy a new domain from your Web hosting provider if your current one isn't descriptive and easy to remember. For example, if your company is called Nordic Widgets, Inc., consumers are more likely to type "nordicwidgets.com" than "nordic-widgets-inc.com" or "nordicwidgets.net" to find your website.
-
2
Include an "About" page to tell visitors what your company does. You can title the page "About," "About us" or "Company History," but it should explain to visitors why your company is the best to suit their needs. This information is not always apparent from a website's home page and potential customers may leave if you don't give them a reason to stay.

3
Give visitors a way to contact you, whether it be your company address, phone number or a contact form on your website. It's your choice whether you place this information on a separate page or to include it on every page. Allowing visitors to contact you can benefit your company by giving you feedback on your products, services and website.

4
Put information on your site that visitors will find helpful. Your company may sell tires, for example, but consumers could benefit from knowing how to tell if their tires are flat. Updating your website regularly will show visitors that you care enough about your customers to provide them current information. It can also attract visitors to your website through search engines, provided you use key phrases that people are likely to type, such as "check tire pressure" in this example.
-
5
Place a site menu prominently on web page to help visitors easily navigate. The top (below the company logo but above the main content) and the left side of the page are two common places for this. Include a link to each of the site's main categories on the menu (for example, a link for each type of product you sell in your store).

Tips & Warnings
Register multiple domains and direct them all to the domain you set up in Step 1. Doing so can capture consumers who type in one of these alternate addresses.
Use paragraphs or bullet points to break up the items you post in Step 4. People are more likely to keep reading when you post information this way rather than in long, continuous blocks.
Don't post an email address on your website in Step 3 since spam bots can use it bombard your inbox with junk emails.
Don't overload your Web pages with key phrases in Step 4. It may attract search engines to your site, but will turn off visitors who may find your wording unnatural.
