How to Bypass the Seatbelt Alarm on a 2004 F-150

The 2004 Ford F-150 is a full-size American-made truck that features ABS brakes, front independent suspension, 17-inch wheels and available with several trim package options. All models, regardless of cab, bed or wheelbase configuration, receives a seat belt warning system known as "BeltMinder." The BeltMinder system provides a constant audible and visual warning whenever a passenger or driver fails to buckle their seat belt. Disabling the BeltMinder system will allow you to eliminate the audible and visual seat belt reminders.

      Set the vehicle's parking brake. If your particular vehicle features an automatic transmission, place the gearshift mechanism in the "Park" position. Unbuckle both driver and passenger side safety belts.

      Switch the ignition to the "On" position.

      Wait for the Safety Belt indicator on the dashboard to turn off and buckle/unbuckle the safety belt nine times, within 50 seconds of the Safety Belt indicator turning off.

      Watch closely for the Airbag warning light, located on the instrument cluster, to illuminate. After the Airbag light turns on, fasten and unfasten the safety belt one time. If you have successfully disabled the BeltMinder feature, the Airbag light will flash for three seconds, four times per second.

      Repeat the previous steps for each additional seat restraint you wish to disable.
