How to Reset a Cable Box 3100 in Explorer

The Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3100 is a cable box that converts cable signals sent by cable companies into an image that can be seen on a television screen. If you are unsatisfied with the settings on your Explorer and wish to reset the box to factory settings, you can do so by pushing a few buttons on your cable box.

Instructions

1. Press and hold the "Volume Up," "Volume Down" and "Info" buttons on your cable box.

2. Release the buttons as soon as you see the word "Boot" on your television screen.

3. Press the "Power" button on the cable box once you see the time on the front display.
