How to Change Light Bulbs in Whirlpools
When the light bulbs in a Whirlpool tub burn out, they must be replaced with light bulbs specifically designed for the make and model of the tub. Also, all tub manufacturers include a special lens tool with the tub for changing the light bulb. This tool is the only tool that should be used to change the light bulbs in Whirlpools. It is a flat, semi-circle of plastic with two prongs sticking out from the flat edge. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Open the lens cover using the special lens tool provided with your Whirlpool tub. Place the tool so the two prongs at the end fit in the two recesses in the cover, and turn the cover counterclockwise to remove it.
-
2
Remove the lens by pulling it out of place by its edges with your hand. Slide the O-ring off the lens body or pry it off the tub side if it remained in place.

3
Pull the light bulb straight out of the socket.
-
4
Line up the prongs on the end of the replacement bulb with the slots in the socket and push the bulb into place.
-
5
Hold the O-ring around the lens and push the lens back into position. Use a new O-ring if the original is hard, cracked or torn.
-
6
Place the lens cover back in position, making sure the notch on the lens is lined up with the notch on the holder. Use the lens tool to turn the cover clockwise into its locked position.
