How to Enable QChat on a Smart Phone
QChat is Sprint and Nextel's Direct Connect service provider on a variety of Push-to-Talk smart phones. QChat allows you to connect instantly with a contact who also has a compatible QChat phone by pushing a button. You can enable the service by adding the Direct Connect feature to your Sprint or Nextel wireless account.

Visit the Sprint/Nextel website and click the "My Account" tab. Sign in to your account. Click the tab "My Devices."

Hover your mouse over "I want to..." Select the option to change your wireless plan.

Select the option to add the "Simply Everything" plan, which will add the Direct Connect feature to your account. Click "Next."

Confirm your decision and enter your e-mail address in the appropriate field. Click "Submit." Wait 15 to 20 minutes and restart your phone.

Confirm that the QChat service is active by dialing a Direct Connect number for a Sprint or Nextel customer.

Dial "611" from your Sprint or Nextel mobile phone and follow the prompts to speak with a representative.

Tell the representative you want to add the Direct Connect service to your account.

Wait for the representative to upgrade your account and enable the service. Follow her instructions to restart your phone.

Confirm that the QChat service is active by dialing a Direct Connect number for a Sprint or Nextel customer.
