Patriotic bunting is a simple and festive way to prepare your home for holidays such as the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day. Hang your patriotic bunting properly to keep your home from looking untidy.

Step 1

Open your bunting and measure the distance between the holes along the top straight edge.

Step 2

Use your tape measure, level and a pencil to to make marks along the surface where you want to hang the bunting. Make the marks the same distance apart as the holes in the bunting. Use the level to ensure the marks are level if you are hanging the bunting parallel with the ground.

Step 3

Tap small nails with a hammer into the surface where you are hanging the bunting. Tap one nail where each mark is made. Tap the nails in until only an inch of the nail is protruding out the surface.

Step 4

Hang the bunting from the nails by sliding one hole along the top edge of the bunting over each nail starting at one end of the bunting and working your way across to the other end. Hang the rest of your bunting pieces in the same manner with the pieces hanging end to end.

Tip

Hang patriotic bunting from stairway railings, eaves or along the top edge of a wall. Use zip ties to hang bunting from railings where you don't want to hammer in nails. Thread one end of the zip tie through the hole in the bunting, wrap it around the banister and zip it closed.
