How to Use Swimming Pool Vacuum Cleaners
Vacuuming your swimming pool is part of the regular maintenance of the pool. It prevents debris build-up, which can cause algae and bacterial growth in the water. Pool owners should vacuum their pools at least once a month during the season, or up to once a week if the pool is near trees. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Insert the vacuum hose into the head of the vacuum, which is the part with the brush on it.
-
2
Extend the pole of the vacuum, which is attached to the vacuum head, as far as it will go and lower the head and hose into the deep end of the pool.
-
-
3
Hold the other cuffed end of the vacuum hose over the water return fitting to push the air out of the hose and prime it. Watch the vacuum head. When it bubbles, you have enough water in the hose.
-
4
Hold the hose upright so you don't lose any water and walk over to the skimmer. Take off the lid and pull out the skimmer basket. Quickly flip the hose over and push it into the hole at the bottom of the skimmer port.
-
5
Wait 90 seconds for the filter to adjust the suction.
-
6
Walk back over to the extended vacuum hose and begin gently pushing it along the floor of the pool. Run the vacuum head over the entire surface of the bottom of the pool to vacuum up the debris.
-
7
Remove the hose from the skimmer and from the vacuum head when you are finished. Let it drain. Replace the skimmer basket and lid.
