How to Thread a Weaving Loom
One of the easiest ways to weave at home is by using a frame loom. These looms consist of a simple wooden frame that is small enough to sit on your lap. Before you begin to weave, however, you must thread, or warp, your loom. Threading your loom involves stringing yarn from the top to the bottom of the frame so that you have something to hold your weave.

1
Take a long piece of thick yarn, wool or cotton, and tie a double knot around the bottom piece of the frame.
-
2
Pull the thread up toward the top of the frame and loop it underneath and then over the frame. Keep the loop relatively tight, but not so tight that you cannot lift it with one finger.

3
Continue looping from the bottom of the frame to the top in a figure eight pattern until you have around 20 loops. You can make more or less depending on the size of your project.
-
4
Tie the thread at the top of the frame when you have enough loops. Cut off the excess thread.
