How to Test SDRAM

Computer SDRAM is a specific type of random access memory commonly found in Windows based PCs. Just because your computer is seemingly loading without problem doesn't mean that there are no issues with your computer's installed SDRAM chips. In the Windows 7 operating system, you can test the operation of your SDRAM by performing a Windows memory diagnostics test.

Instructions

    • 1

      Click "Start."

    • 2

      Click "Control Panel."

    • 3

      Click "Administrative Tools."

    • 4

      Click "Memory Diagnostics Tool."

    • 5

Click "Restart Now and Check for Problems." Windows will reboot and run a test on the SDRAM chips that are installed inside your computer.
