How to Make an MSN Addy

MSN was the branding for Microsoft's online services, such as MSN Messenger and MSN Hotmail. The log-in information for these services was tied to a single MSN ID. The email address (addy, for short) typically ended in @msn.com or @hotmail.com. These services have since been rebranded as Windows Live, such as Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Hotmail. Creating your Windows Live ID is fairly simple.

Instructions

Navigate to the Windows Live ID Sign Up page (see Resources).

    • 2

Enter the desired user name. You can choose whether your want your ID to be @hotmail.com or @live.com. Click "Check Availability" to ensure the desired user name is available. If not, choose another.

    • 3

Enter, then re-enter, your desired password. The strength of your password is displayed. The "stronger" the password, the better.
