The Instructions For a Keyless Entry For a 2002 Honda Civic
Keyless entry was a standard feature on the 2002 Honda Civic EX model, and optional for the LX and HX models, according to the 2002 Honda Civic Owner's Manual. The feature consists of a key fob, or remote transmitter, and a power door lock button on the inside driver's-side door by the window controls. With the remote transmitter, you can lock and unlock all doors to your Civic while outside of the car.

Look at your key fob and identify the three buttons that are part of the Civic's keyless entry; one large button at the top with a picture of a lock in the locked position (used to lock the doors), a smaller one beneath it with a picture of a lock in the unlocked position (used to unlock the doors) and a "Panic" button.

Press the top button to lock all of the doors, quickly with pressure. (Don't hold it down.) If standing close enough to the car, you'll hear the locks "click" and also see the tail, parking and side lights flash to signify the vehicle is locked Or, you can hit the button a second time within five seconds, in which case the horn will beep once, giving an audible confirmation.
