How to Check an Aquarium for Leaks

Before you spend time and effort setting up your tank, make sure it isn't going to leak!

Instructions

1. Place a thick layer of newspaper on a flat surface, preferably outside or in the garage.

2. Set the aquarium on top of the paper.

3. Fill it to the top with water.

4. Look for wet spots on the newspaper after three or four days.

5. Get ready for fun - your tank is now ready to clean.

on 2/25/2006 If your tank has a leak, you can fix it with aquarium silicone sealant once you determine where it's coming from. Only use sealant made specifically for aquariums!
