Sheer nylon curtains are used on windows in many homes, as they provide some privacy while allowing natural sunlight to shine through. The curtains must be washed on occasion to keep them looking fresh. With proper cleaning you can remove soil without causing damage to the nylon fabric. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Washing machine
  • Water
  • Mild laundry detergent
  • Dryer, optional

Instructions

    • 1

      Remove the curtains from your window frames and place them in your washing machine.

    • 2

      Adjust your washing machine for a large load. Use cold water, and make sure the machine is set to a delicate cycle.

    • 3

      Pour in a mild laundry detergent that would be appropriate for undergarments and other items made of delicate fabrics.

    • 4

      Remove the curtains after washing and either hang them to air dry, or place in the dryer on a cool setting. Do not use heat when drying, as this can damage the sheer nylon fabric.
