Line up the two thin pieces of metal that are going to be attached to each other. Place one piece on top of the other and set them on a flat surface. Make sure they are steady and not moving.

    • 3

Set the hand rivet at the desired spot on the metal pieces and push down firmly with one hand while holding it in place with the other to make sure it doesn't slide. Pull the trigger on the hand rivet and hold until you hear a popping noise.

    • 4

Pull away from the metal piece to remove the rivet tool and leave everything from the ball down through the metal. This will hold the metal in place. Move to another spot on the metal and repeat the same process. Continue until all the desired rivets have been inserted into the two metal pieces.
