How to Ride Bicycle Rollers
Rollers are a type of indoor stationary bicycle trainer. The general design consists of three cylinders, two for the rear bicycle wheel and one for the front, mounted inside a metal frame. Arguably one of the more challenging ways to stay in shape on a bicycle, rollers require supreme balance and concentration. Once mastered however, rollers are effective at creating a smooth pedal stroke and helping stay fit during rainy or cold weather.

1
Place the rollers between a doorway. For first timers, a doorway frame can serve as something to hold on to while mounting and dismounting the bicycle or in the event of a loss of balance while riding the bicycle. The floor of the doorway should be even and the doorway frame narrow enough to allow for a comfortable reach.
-
2
Place the bicycle onto the rollers. Rotate the pedals by hand so that they are in a "12 and six-o'clock" position.
-
-
3
Hold the door frame with one hand and place one foot onto the six-o'clock pedal. Holding the handlebar with the other hand, carefully mount the bicycle. Place the second foot on the 12-o'clock pedal.
-
4
Rotate the pedals forward, all the while holding both the door frame and handlebar for balance.
-
5
Release the hand from the door frame and place it on the handlebar. Do not stop pedaling. Like riding on the road, pedaling is crucial to keeping the bicycle upright.
-
6
Maintain a smooth motion during pedaling and keep your eyes straight ahead just in front of the wheel. Sudden turning of the head can disrupt balance. If at any point balance is disrupted, remove one hand from the handlebar and grab the door frame.
