Stopzilla Won't Load

StopZilla is a type of anti-malware program made by a company called Roxio. StopZilla has the ability to scan your hard drive for traces of computer viruses, adware, spyware and other types of programs designed to do harm to your machine. If StopZilla refuses to load successfully on your computer, it could be due to a few different reasons including a failure to meet the program's minimum specifications.

Verify that your computer is running one of the operating systems required by the StopZilla software. The latest version of StopZilla is designed to run on the Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. Running an operating system older than Windows 2000 may result in StopZilla being unable to function.

Clean off the data side of the CD that you're using to install StopZilla. If you're installing StopZilla via an optical disc and the data side of that disc is dirty, your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive may be unable to read or recognize it. Use a dry cloth to wipe off the data side and try installing StopZilla again.

Make sure you have the Internet Explorer Web browser installed on your computer. The most recent version of the StopZilla software requires at least Internet Explorer version 6.0 to operate. You may have other Web browsers installed on your computer, but for StopZilla to function properly its minimum system requirements call for having Microsoft's Internet Explorer installed on the same machine.
