DIY Satellite Signal Booster

It is possible to boost your satellite television signal.

When using a satellite system, you may lose signal quality if the satellite is redirected to multiple satellite receivers or several televisions. Although the satellite company often offers options to boost your signal, these come at increased monthly payments, costing you hundreds if not thousands of dollars in the long run. Thankfully, it is possible to hook up your own signal booster hardware to the satellite equipment yourself.

Instructions

1. Disconnect the coaxial cable running from the satellite dish into the satellite receiver. This is where you need to install your signal booster.

2. Connect the coaxial cable you just disconnected into the "In" port on the signal booster you have obtained. These are available at most electronic stores.

3. Plug the signal booster into a local electrical outlet. This sends additional power into your satellite signal, increasing the overall quality of the picture.

4. Attach a new coaxial cable into the "Out" port on the signal booster, then connect the opposite end into the "In" port on the satellite receiver. Power on all the equipment and you are now able to enjoy the increased picture signal from your satellite receiver.
