How to Upload From a Mini Disc to a Computer From an Optical Line thumbnail
It is possible to upload the information from a mini disk to your computer system.

A mini disc is a small, data device that is a combination of a floppy disk and CD. This format is not heavily used as MP3 players allow you to transport data without a disk. However, if you have information saved onto a mini disc, it is possible to upload the information to your computer using an RCA audio/video optical line.

Things You'll Need

  • Video capture card
  • RCA audio/video cables
  • Mini disc player

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the video capture card to your computer system. Most are external devices that connect directly to a USB port on your computer. If installing for the first time, insert the driver installation CD, then follow the prompts of the installation wizard to install the driver.

    • 2

Plug the RCA audio/video cables into the "Video Out" ports on the mini disk player (if the disk only holds audio, plug in just the red and white audio cables of the RCA connection).

    • 3

Attach the opposite ends of the cables to the "Video In" ports on the video capture card.

    • 4

Power on the connected mini disk player and launch Windows Movie Maker from the "Start" menu. Once the program loads, select "Capture," then choose the video capture card you are using. Click "Record" and the content of the mini disk begins to upload to the computer system.
