How to Troubleshoot a Denon RC921

The Denon RC921 remote control comes packaged with the Denon AVR-3803 and AVR-1083 home theater receivers. The remote control is used to operate the functions of the receivers. On occasion you may find that the Denon RC921 does not work with the receiver, which is often caused by dead batteries, improper positioning of the remote control or excess light blocking the remote control signal. By troubleshooting the Denon RC921, you can return it to normal working order.

• 3 AA batteries

Instructions

1. Replace the batteries in the Denon RC921 if it no longer operates the receiver. To change the batteries, flip the remote control over so the back is facing up. Slide the battery cover down and off of the remote and remove the old batteries. Insert the 3 new AA batteries with the positive end of the left and right batteries facing the top of the remote, and the positive end of the middle battery facing the bottom of the remote. Replace the battery cover by sliding it up and onto the remote control.

2. Point the remote control at the front of the receiver unit when attempting to operate the remote. Make sure you stand within 23 feet of the receiver when using the remote control, if no objects are in the way. Stand closer to the unit if objects sit in the way of the receiver.

3. Move the receiver out of direct sunlight or intense artificial light. Different forms of light could prevent the remote control from working properly.
