Getting a GED in Nebraska is a fairly easy process.

Adults or teens who have dropped out of high school may seek out to get a GED or a general equivalency diploma, which is equivalent to a high school diploma. Getting a GED in the state of Nebraska requires you to be at least 18 years of age or older and requires that a GED recipient be a resident of the state of Nebraska for at least 30 days. Also, to obtain a GED in the state of Nebraska, you cannot obtain a high school diploma and your graduating class must have already graduated at least one year prior.

      Take the official GED practice test to get you warmed up for the real test. The questions on the practice GED test are similar to the ones on the actual GED test. The practice test will help you determine whether or not you are ready for the actual test. Your local library should have GED testing material. The Internet is also a useful source for free GED lessons and practice tests.

      Find a GED testing center in Nebraska close to you. There are testing centers in Beatrice, Chadron, Alliance, Bellevue, Columbus, Fremont, Grand Island, Hastings, Imperial, Lexington, Lincoln, McCook, Norfolk, Omaha and several other cities in the state of Nebraska.

      Contact the testing center where you plan on taking the GED exam and pay the fee. Depending on what testing site you choose, the testing fee can range anywhere from $10 to $75. There is normally a testing fee and a grading fee.

      Eat a balanced breakfast and get a good night's sleep the night before the test. Make sure you are well rested and have studied all of the GED material. Be sure to arrive at least 20 minutes early to the GED testing site.

      Bring your admission ticket to the GED testing center as well as a photo identification card, a few sharpened No. 2 pencils and a watch. Bring only essential items. Items such as purses, tote bags, hand-held electronic games, food items, cell phones, textbooks, notebooks, jackets, coats, supplies or portable music players are not permitted to remain in the same seating area as you.
