How to Find Out if You Owe Tickets in Texas
Unfortunately, there is no straight-forward, easy way to find out if you have outstanding tickets in Texas. Unlike states that have a single online ticket search feature, Texas requires you to contact each individual county courthouse to find out if you owe money. Keep in mind that in Texas your driver's license can be suspended for unpaid moving and non-moving violations. Depending on how long your outstanding tickets have gone unpaid, there are a few of options available for how to track down unpaid tickets in Texas.

1
Call the county courthouse in the counties where your tickets were issued. The phone number for the courthouse is printed on the back of Texas citations. If you do not have a copy of your citation, look up the phone number for the court in the 2010 Texas Judicial System Directory. The courthouse will be able to tell you whether or not any tickets were issued to you and if they are unpaid. They will also be able to set up an installment payment plan with you or take a one-time payment over the phone.

Look up your tickets online. If you know to which court your ticket is answerable, you may be able to make an online payment or look it up via nCourt.com. If you cannot search for your ticket by a specific courthouse, but the ticket is past its due date, you can also look it up on the Texas Department of Public Safety's Failure to Appear webpage. For this search, you will need to provide some basic information such as your driver's license number and date of birth.

Request a copy of your driver's record from the Texas Department of Public Safety. A level three driving record will contain all moving and non-moving violations reported to the state. All paid and unpaid tickets will find their way onto your driver's record eventually. If you truly aren't sure if you have outstanding tickets, and you aren't sure in which counties you may have received them, request a copy of your state record at a cost of $7.50. Once you see what tickets were issued to you, check off the ones you know you paid. Call the issuing county courthouses to resolve any questionable or unpaid citations.
