How to Mount Throw Saddlebags on a Motorcycle
Motorcycle throw-over saddlebags allow riders to carry more personal items while not overloading their bikes. These saddle bags are an easy and affordable solution for storage on most motorcycles. To add a piece of hard-cased motorcycle luggage can be expensive, but the throw-over style saddlebags are a more affordable option. A biker can carry items such as groceries, paperwork or anything else that will fit in the bags.

1
Use the wrench to loosen the seat-retaining bolts. Pull the seat up and back to remove it from the motorcycle.
-
2
Untie the saddlebag drawstring and place it on the motorcycle where you want it to be mounted. While holding the saddlebag in place, position the other saddlebag on the other side. Align the holes on the saddlebag yoke and tie them together. This will hold the saddlebags where you positioned them.

3
Place a cable tie into the saddlebag yolk along the two aligned holes. Remove the saddlebags from the motorcycle and place them on a flat surface. Trim the ends of the yolk to remove any excess material that might prevent the saddlebags from opening and closing properly.
-
4
Use a knife or scissors to cut off the cable tie. Realign the other holes in the yolk. Place a drawstring through the aligned holes and lace it together. Pull the drawstring tight and tie the strings together once all of the holes have been laced.

5
Place the saddlebags on the motorcycle in the same position you had them earlier. Attach the saddlebags to the frame of the motorcycle by using the small cable ties. Reinstall your seat over the saddlebag yolk. Use the wrench to tighten the bolts and secure the saddlebags in place.
