How to Rebuild Thumbnails for PSD
Aside from being a widely used and powerful graphics and photographic editing tool, Adobe Photoshop has a variety of processing and conversion capabilities tucked into its menu bars. Photoshop allows you to convert and constrain your photographs and digital images into thumbnail images in a number of formats, including the program's proprietary PSD format. The image processor allows you to do this in batches, saving you a lot of time by eliminating the need to convert and constrain each image individually.

1
Create a new folder on your computer, and copy the thumbnail images you want to rebuild to the folder.
-
2
Open Photoshop, and select "File" > "Scripts" > "Image Processor" from the menu bar.
-
-
3
Click "Select Folder" in the "Select the images to process" section of the resulting dialog box. Find the folder into which you copied your thumbnails, and click "Open."
-
4
Select the "Save in Same Location" box, or designate a different destination folder using the "Select Folder" option of the "Select location to save processed images" section of the dialog box.
-
5
Check the "Save as PSD" and "Maximize Compatibility" boxes in the "File Type" section of the dialog box. If you need to constrain the thumbnails you already have to a different size, check the "Resize to Fit" box, and set the "W" (width) and "H" (height) fields accordingly.
-
6
Click "Run" in the upper right-hand corner of the dialog box to begin the batch rebuilding process of your thumbnails into PSD thumbnails.
-
7
Check your destination folder to confirm that the rebuilt PSD thumbnails are there and are properly constrained.
