Anti-theft or theft-deterrent systems are common capabilities on all different types of cars around the world. These systems can be used with many different Jeep models, including various vehicles from 2001. You can set or reset the system using the coding sequence from your driver's seat. This can be done with just your ignition key and keyless remote, and without any professional equipment.

Step 1

Enter your car wth your ignition key and your theft remote, and press the Lock button on your remote five times in 10 seconds.

Step 2

Insert your key into the Jeep's ignition cylinder, and then turn the key to the "Run" position. Wait for the car's automatic chiming sound to stop before proceeding.

Step 3

Press and hold the Unlock button on your remote for around five seconds, and then press and hold the Panic button at the same time.

Step 4

Hold both buttons together for one second and then release. Wait for the car's chimes to sound again and then press and release the Lock and Unlock buttons on your remote.

Step 5

Press and release just the Unlock button on the remote next and wait for a chime again to indicate successful programming. You can then remove your ignition key to complete the resetting process.
