How to Ship to an APO Address
APO and FPO addresses are assigned to servicemen and -women when they are stationed on bases on continental U.S. soil and foreign soil. Sending packages through the system, even when they are destined for a foreign base, is done in the same way, as all packages are treated as domestic mail and have to be sent via the U.S. Postal Service and not other carriers such as FedEx or DHL. There are a number of restrictions on what items can be sent to various places and forms that need to be filled out.
