How to Fix a Radeon 9250 PCI & DirectX 9

If your Radeon 9250 graphics card and your installation of the DirectX 9 software are interfering with one another, you can solve the issues in a few different ways. You can determine if the problem lies solely with your graphics card and correct the problem using the native Windows Device Manager. You can also update DirectX 9 to the latest version, which updates its compatibility with older hardware, using Windows Update.

Radeon Graphics Card Driver

1. Click "Start."

2. Click "Control Panel."

3. Click "Device Manager."

4. Double click to expand the listing for "Display Adapters" in the Device Manager window and right-click the listing for your Radeon 9250 card. Click "Properties." Click "General" in the window that opens. Any issues that have been found specifically with the card itself will be outlined in detail in the window on screen. Click "Troubleshooting" to see a list of potential solutions for your specific problems.

DirectX

1. Click "Start."

2. Click "All Programs."

3. Click "Windows Update."

4. Click "Check for Updates." When the update check has completed, click "Download and Install" to update DirectX version 9 (along with all other Microsoft software on your computer) to the latest version. Reboot your computer to complete the installation and see if updating DirectX has fixed your graphics card problems.
