Make sure you aren't planning on anyone accessing your car in the near future. Keep in mind that by arming your car's alarm, you will make it impossible for anyone without keys to gain entry. Also ensure that you know where your keys are-- without them, you won't be able to disarm the alarm.

Press the "lock" button on your keypad. Most vehicles will have their lights blink once or twice to indicate that the car has been locked and the alarm armed.

Press the "unlock" button when you are ready to disarm the alarm. This will allow you to access the car again.
