Coleman 5000 Generator Instructions
A home generator can provide electricity to run appliances and lights in the event of a power outage, and can be used as a power source while camping. Place the generator outdoors, away from open windows, vents and doors. If the weather is wet, cover the generator with an open canopy for protection.

Check the oil and fuel levels and fill if necessary. Make sure nothing is plugged into the generator before starting.

Close the choke. Switch the generator on.

Turn the key to start the engine. Allow the engine to warm up, adjusting the choke as needed.

Plug in the 25-foot convenience cord to bring power inside, or plug items directly into the generator's 120-volt outlets.

Unplug all cords from the generator and shut down to refuel.

Tips & Warnings
If the generator shuts off spontaneously, check the oil. The Coleman Powermate has a low oil shutdown feature to protect the engine.
Never run your generator indoors, even inside an open garage.
Never refuel the engine while it's running or hot.
Never plug the generator into a wall outlet in an attempt to power the house. Doing so can cause electrocution to utility workers servicing the transformer, as well as neighbors who share your transformer.
