The GED is an alternative option for those not enrolled in high school

The General Education Development Test (GED), is a high-school equivalency test. The GED can only be taken by people who have not received a high school diploma. Most colleges require either a high school diploma or a GED certificate in an application, and it's important to have a copy of your GED on hand. If you've misplaced your copy, however, you can order a replacement from the center where you took the test.
