How to Polish Laminate
Laminate flooring requires cleaning with a special cleaner and polishing product intended for laminates to keep floors looking shiny and new. Dirt erodes the finish of laminate flooring, making it appear dull and drab. Cleaning laminate by mopping with wet water can warp and damage the flooring, so use only specific cleaning and polishing agents. Things You'll Need
- Dust mop or sweeper without a beater bar
- Spray cleaner polish recommended for laminates
- Cloth mop

Remove rugs, tables and chairs from the laminate flooring.

Run a dust mop or sweeper, without a beater bar, over the floor, removing dust and grime. Vacuum or dust mop in tight areas, such as between counters and appliances.

Spray a polish cleaner on a 3-by-3-foot area of the laminate floor. Start at an inside corner of the room and work your way out.

Wipe the polish over the floor with a cloth mop. Use steady pressure to buff the floor to a high sheen.

Spray another area of the laminate flooring and wipe clean with the cloth mop. Continue this process, polishing the entire floor.

Set the rugs, tables and chairs back in their proper places.

Tips & Warnings
Never apply wax to laminate flooring as it can cause the surface to become slippery.
