      Attend a process server education course that has been approved by the Supreme Court of Texas. Once the course is completed, you will receive a certificate. This certificate must be turned in with your process server application.

      Obtain a criminal history report from the Texas Department of Public Safety. To obtain a report, complete a Personal Criminal History Record application and mail it to the Texas Department of Public Safety along with a copy of your fingerprints and a check for $15 (see "Resources" --- fee is as of 2010).

      Download and complete the process server application from the Texas Courts website. Once the application is completed, have it notarized.

      Submit the completed application, along with your criminal history report and process education certificate to the Texas Supreme Court. According to the Texas Courts website, "You should allow at least eight weeks for processing your application." If your application is approved, you will be able to work as a legal process server in the state of Texas.
