How to Become a Sony Dealer

Thanks to the dependability, superior attributes and range of products, Sony has built up a reputation in the electronics and communication business. Becoming a part of the Sony network can bring rich dividends to any business that has a few years of experience in these areas. Sony considers various factors before authorizing dealerships. Beginning with an online application, the process of gaining approval can be lengthy, so be prepared to wait.

Find information. Go to the Sony Dealer Prospect Site. Look at the online application provided and note what details you have to submit. An important criterion considered by Sony is the existence of other authorized Sony dealers in your geographical area. Study the area where your business is located and find this competition information. Visit an existing Sony dealer. Speak to the dealer and try to find out if there’s any quality in particular that Sony looks for in its dealers.

Complete the application. Gather documents that provide the relevant information of your business name, location and designation of your company principals. Take photographs of your store and have them ready as an image file in your computer. Fill out the online Dealer Profile available on the Dealer Prospect Site. Attach your store photos and send the application to Sony. Wait for the Sony regional sales manager to review your profile.

Prepare for inspection. If Sony is interested in making you a dealer, the regional sales manager will request a site inspection. Prepare your facility, including your warehouse, for the inspection. Make sure your documents are in order and up to date. Keep all business information handy.

Complete the credit application. When the Sony official visits your site, show him around and provide any clarifications he requests. If Sony finds your facility suitable, you’ll be given a credit application. Fill it out and hand over to Sony, which will prepare a dealer agreement. Sign the agreement to become a Sony dealer.

Tip

Verify the online application is complete in all respects before you submit to Sony. An incomplete application will not be considered.
